Danville High Band sets summer camp dates

Danville High School Band summer camp dates have been announced as follows: Color Guard—July 27-29 from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.; Drum—July 27-29 from 9 a.m., to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.; Rookies—July 28-29 from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. All students are asked to bring their lunch as students will not be leaving campus for lunch. The full band camp will be August 1-5 from 9 a.m., to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Band students are asked to remember to bring the following items: water bottle, cooler for your foods, sun screen, a big hat, your instrument and a great attitude.

Shady Grove Baptist Church members express Christian love and prayers to Ryn Jones, Junior Taylor, Chester Campbell, Michael Terry, Barbara Gillespie, Lynn Montgomery, Stephanie Hyde, Hollis Roden, Joe Cox, Wanda Archer, J.W. Franklin, and all of our military personnel and their families. The church also expresses Christian love and heartfelt sympathy to Alline Clark and family in the death of her son-in-law, Ricky L. Terry.
Massey Volunteer Fire Department will be starting a First Responder Class at Station #1 on Evergreen Road with the first session scheduled on July 11 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Following sessions will be held on July 14, 18, 21 and 25. The cost for supplies is $15, including the AED and CPR card. All students must have a BP cuff and stethoscope and must have them the first night through the final night of classes.
