PJHS counselor dies in Decatur crash
Priceville Junior High School Counselor Terry M. White died of injuries she sustained on Sunday in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Beltline Road SW and Carridale Street in Decatur.
White was airlifted by Med-Flight helicopter to Huntsville Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The wreck occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m. as White was crossing the Beltline at the Carridale Street (Decatur Mall) intersection. The driver of the other vehicle, Hugh Kennedy Chandler Jr., 46 of Decatur was driving north on the Beltline and failed to stop at a red light, according to Decatur Police Investigator Charles J. Brantley.
Chandler was charged with DUI and was being held in Morgan County Jail. He faces the possibility of further charges, according to Investigator Charles J. Brantley.
The investigation is ongoing.
