Rain is welcome sight

Over the last few days, Hartselle and Morgan County has seen something it hadn’t seen for nearly three weeks: rainfall.

That was definitely a welcome sight to all of the farmers and cattlemen throughout our area. Not only did it help break our light drought conditions, it also brought us a break in the near 100-degree heat we had been experiencing for a couple of weeks.

While the rainfall is helping, we’re not out of the wood yet. Our state is still currently under a no burn order, which means no burning is allowed unless you obtain a special permit to do so.

Please continue to avoid burning until the conditions improve. The last thing we need is to have a large fire, caused by someone burning debris, get out of control.
