Russell Dewey Ward

Funeral for Russell Dewey Ward, 71, of Hartselle will be Friday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Irwin officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 23, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Ward died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at his residence. He was born May 8, 1940, in Morgan County to Robert Dewey Ward and Ethel M. Russell Ward. He was employed by the U.S. Government at Redstone Arsenal as a Supervisory Computer Specialist until he retired. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Irwin Ward and his parents.

He is survived by a son, Jeff Ward and wife Pam of Hartselle; a brother, Wayne Ward of Hartselle; three sisters, Louise Brewer, Barbara Kerins and June Wallace, all of Hartselle; and a grandchild, Ashlyn Ward.

Pallbearers will be Randy Powell, Russell Powell, Jerry Powell, Jon Stinson, Duane Hughes and Chris Wallace.
