Olen Stringer Moore Jr.

Funeral for Olen Stringer Moore Jr., 84, of Hartselle will be Sunday, July 3, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. J.T. Copeland and Glenn Smallwood officiating.

Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 2, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Moore died Thursday, June 30, 2011, at his residence. He was an insurance agent for Mutual Savings Life Insurance for over 25 years. He was a member of Gideons International organization and loved speaking for the Gideons in churches throughout North Alabama for several years before he became disabled. He was a Deacon in the Southern Baptist organization and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Decatur. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olen Stringer Moore Sr. and Lilly Lucille Clemons Moore and by three brothers, Hoyt Matthew Moore, Billy Franklin Moore and Jimmy Freeman Moore.

He is survived by his wife, Elise G. Johnston Moore of Hartselle; a son, John Clint Moore and wife Melinda Landers Moore of Hartselle; a sister, Margureas Lucille Beebout of Opelika; two grandchildren, Yvonne Moore Howard and husband Brad of Charlottesville, Va. and Jacob Pace Moore and wife Kay Cochran Moore of Hartselle; and a great-grandson, Connor Blaine Moore.

Pallbearers will be members of Gideon International OrganizAtion.

The family requests memorials be made to Fellowship Baptist Church Building Fund or to Gideons International.
