Looking back to 1963

Looking back on sales at a local clothing store in 1963:

• Men’s summer sports coats – $22.99 on sale for $12.

• Men’s summer suits – regular $29.99, sale price $18.

• Women’s sandals – regular price $3.99, sale price $2.69 or two pairs for $5.

• Beach jackets – regular $3.99, sale price $2.97. These jackets were worn over swim suits.

This week’s tips

• Use tuna cans to cut bread for party sandwiches and to cut cheese rounds to put between this bread.

• Use melon scoop to make ice cream balls.

• Use a spray bottle to put alcohol into. Place it in the refrigerator. Spray the alcohol on your feet for a refreshing feeling.

• Use plastic bags to line wastebaskets. These bags can also be used as trash bags.
