Virgil Marvin ‘Tarp’ Taylor
Funeral for Virgil Marvin “Tarp” Taylor, 67, of Falkville was Saturday, July 9, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Carroll officiating.
Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at his residence. He was born January 12, 1944, in Morgan County to Clyde Livingston Taylor and Oma Lillian Harris Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva Taylor; a son, Wesley Norman Taylor of Falkville; a daughter, Connie Sue Garrison of Falkville; a Goddaughter, Jusette Simmons of Falkville; a Godson, Wayne Simmons of Falkville; a foster son, Larry Luna of Tenn.; three sisters, June Kilpatric, Gearldine Griffith and Darlene Wright, all of Hartselle; two brothers, Clyde R. “Buddy” Taylor and Jackie Donald Taylor, both of Vinemont; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Scott Abbott, Troy Taylor, Rodney Brown, Roy Griffith, Phillip Griffith and Alan Taylor.
