Joan Lee Dayus
Funeral service for Joan Lee Dayus, 82, of Decatur was Tuesday, July 12, at 7 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Jenkins officiating.
Mrs. Dayus died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born February 26, 1929, in New Jersey to Richard Walter Mason and Thelma Mae Badger Mason. She was a resident at Cedar Springs for the last three years and she had previously been President of the Women’s Club and was very active in community activities when she resided in Sun City, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frederick W. Dayus.
She is survived by two sons, Brian Dayus of Lake Elsinore, Calif. and Mark Dayus of Decatur; three daughters, Sherry Whitten of Decatur, Laurie Holmquist of Valencia, Calif. and Lisa Hein of Decatur; 13 grandchildren; and six grandchildren.
