George Harris

Funeral for George Harris, 67, of Trinity was Saturday, July 16, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Charles “Beau” Christy officiating.

Burial was in Antioch Cemetery.

Mr. Harris died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born August 28, 1943, in Morgan County to John William Harris and Elaine Harris. His parents preceded him in death. He was minister of Somerville Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Harris; two sons, Justin Harris of Nashville, Tenn. and Nathan Harris of Trinity; a daughter, Kimbalee Fortner and husband Josh of Missouri; two brothers, Raymond Harris and David Harris, both of England; and a sister, Carol Cole and husband Bob of England.

Family members were pallbearers.

The family will be eternally grateful to Dr. Brian Matthews and the Clearview Cancer Institute staff and all nurses for their kindness, gentleness and compassion during the time spent with them.
