Thompson named citizens police academy alumni member of year

Hartselle Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association Member Of The Year was awarded to Myron Thompson.
Thompson graduated from the Citizen Police Academy in “2008” and joined the Hartselle Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (HCPAAA). He has worked in almost everything the Alumni does to help the Hartselle Police Department.
He walks the football parking lots during home football games with other members of the Alumni to make sure all is safe and gives information when needed for visitors. He works at the 5K and fun runs for Special Needs that is sponsored by Hartselle Police Department when the alumni help park cars or help with special events in Decatur to help their Police Academy.
Thompson also helps with SNAP (Special Needs Accessible Playground) program in Hartselle. At Depot Days you will see Thompson early in the morning helping check people in and throughout the Depot week doing what ever he can to make Depot Days a success and make our community a better place to live. Parking cars for Down Memory Lane, blocking roads for a Christmas parade. Thompson and his wife, Freda, work side by side in the HCPAAA, in our community and in their full- time jobs as owners of Ace Auto Body.
