Garrison promoted to president, publisher
Randy Garrison has been promoted to president and publisher of the Hartselle Enquirer and its companion publications, Morgan Countian and Hartselle Living magazine.
As publisher, he will be in charge of all operations of the Enquirer and its publications.
“Randy has done a great job as advertising manager and general manager,” said Bill Beckner, acting group manager for Boone Newspapers, Inc., which manages Hartselle Newspapers. “I’m confident that he will continue to serve Hartselle and Morgan County and serve as a leader in the community. I’m excited for him and proud to see him lead his hometown newspaper.”
Garrison joined the Enquirer in 2002 as a retail sales representative and was promoted to advertising manager in 2004 and general manager in January 2011. Previously, he was employed in retail sales management for 20 years.
He is a graduate of the former Morgan County High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and government accounting at Athens State University.
He is an active member of Hartselle First United Methodist Church, where he serves on the administrative board and evangelism committee. He is secretary and a past president of Hartselle Kiwanis Club, board chairman for the Hartselle Arts Center, a board member of Hartselle Historical Society and an ambassador for Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce.
He and his wife Lynn are lifelong residents of Hartselle. They have two sons, Jordan, a second year pharmacy student at Auburn University, and Jacob, a 2011 Hartselle graduate and an incoming freshman at Auburn University.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Hartselle Enquirer and our other publications,” Garrison said. “The Enquirer has been a part of Hartselle and Morgan County for so many years and – to quote our mission statement – we want to be a leader, provide positive influence, and promote commerce in our area. Please feel free to call me at (256) 773-6566, email me at randy.garrison@hartselleenquirer.com or drop by the office with any suggestions that you might have. I am proud and blessed to call Hartselle my home. Together we can help the city continue to move forward, prosper and be the best that it can be for all.”
