The power of prayer
I’m a firm believer that God will answer prayer, but in the last few weeks, I’ve seen it confirmed once again.
A couple of weeks ago, I was covering the Hartselle American 7-8 Dixie Youth All-Star team playing here in Hartselle. They only lost once in the state tournament here and only one time before that.
Their head coach, Tim McCarley, told me that the only times they had lost was when they didn’t pray before a game. Most of the time, that was because they were rushed to warm up before the game.
However, it was interesting to hear the coach say that. I guess the good Lord was trying to tell us something.
Then, I was reminded of my 4-year-old nephew, Samuel. About two years ago, he prayed that God would give his family a “Baby Moses.” In July of last year, my sister had her second son, appropriately named Aaron.
Then, my dad’s garden was dying due to very dry weather earlier this year. He asked Samuel to pray for rain. Following that, it rained more than half of the next 20 days and the garden is now producing abundantly.
These may seem like simple prayers, but they are powerful.
So be careful what you pray for, because the good Lord might grant that request.
