DAS offering half price adoptions
In April, Decatur Animal Services (DAS) was one of 50 shelters nationwide to qualify by online voting to compete in the ASPCA* $100K Challenge, which runs August through October, 2011.
To that end, the shelter is offering half price on all adoption feeds until Sept. 3.
The Challenge is to return or adopt at least 300 more animals during the months of August, September and October, 2011, than it did over the same three-month period in 2010. The shelter with the biggest increase in animals saved will win $100,000.
The shelter that gets the most community members involved in saving animals will win a $25,000 grant.
Those shelters that do the best in their regions will be eligible for between $5,000 and $25,000 grants.
