Elma Roxie Hampton Bryant Carter

Funeral for Elma Roxie Hampton Bryant Carter, 91, of Hartselle will be Tues., Aug. 23, at 12 p.m. at Mount Vernon with the Rev. Glenn Wood officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 23, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery.

Mrs. Carter died Sat., Aug. 20, 2011, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 4, 1919, in Lawrence County to George Hampton and Sibba Hightower Hampton. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leroy Bryant and Kermit Carter; her parents; and her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her loving stepchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Carter’s life was filled with close family ties, gardening, flowers, and arts and crafts.

A special thank you goes out to Summerford Nursing Home for all of the love and care she received during her stay in the nursing home.
