Lady Hawks take 2 of 3 at Lawrence Co.
Danville’s volleyball team won two of three matches Monday at Lawrence County.
After Lexington defeated Danville 25-16, 25-18, the Lady Hawks rallied to beat Albertville 18-25, 25-17, 15-9 and then edged Lawrence County 28-26, 21-25, 15-13.
Sydni Shelton once again led the attack with 34 kills. Haley Rae Garnett added 48 assists and 19 digs.
Jada Callahan added 12 kills, six aces and 32 digs. Megan Luker had eight blocks while Shelby Beck also had five aces.
The Lady Hawks will play their first home match today (Thursday) against Addison and Brewer. They will also host the West Morgan Tournament on Saturday and will travel to Priceville on Monday.
Danville fails to make it out of pool play
Danville opened its volleyball season going 1-4 in the first weekend of the season.
On Saturday, Danville went 1-2 and didn’t make it out of pool play at the Brewer tournament.
Danville defeated East Limestone 25-15, 25-9 in the first match, then lost to Geraldine defeated 19-25, 25-22, 15-11 and lost to West Point 25-18, 25-23.
For the day Sydni Shelton had 26 kills, four blocks and 14 digs. Jada Callahan had 22 kills, four aces and 18 digs.
Lacey Roberts added 39 assists while Jesse Oliver had 11 digs.
