Jobless rate needs to improve

The Alabama Department of Industrial Relations released the newest unemployment numbers and Morgan County’s jobless rate improved slightly.

However, it’s much too high at 9.7 percent.

We must continue to find ways to create jobs in our county. The Morgan County Economic Development Association has done a good job of trying to attract new business and industry to our area, along with our local leaders.

If we continue to make our area conducive for doing business, we should see our jobless rate decline.
