The times, they are a changin’
Can it really be the end of summer already? With Labor Day being celebrated this weekend, fall is surely just around the corner. The nice cool mornings that we have enjoyed for the past couple of days give an idea that change is coming. This busy summer has flown by.
With the sounds of shoulder pads colliding and whistles blowing along with the sounds of a marching band in the background, we know the seasons are changing.
With the changing of the season, we are excited to bring to you the second edition of Hartselle Living magazine. The fall edition should be available very soon and we hope that all of you are able to enjoy reading about life in Hartselle. We will even take you back to a time when Hartselle actually came into being.
George Hartsell (no “e”) the town’s namesake was an owner of the North and South Railroad (later to become L&N) and due to the building of the rail system, the area now known as Hartselle came to be settled. From a general store, rail and freight depot and saloon to presently the second largest city in Morgan County, Hartselle has truly been a progressive city.
Hartselle Living fall edition is filled with photos of events, people, and places depicting things that show our belief in the American dream that we enjoy by living in Hartselle. We help our fellow citizens by helping to fund and build a playground for our special needs children. We celebrate life and good times under the stadium lights of J.P. Cain Stadium on Friday nights. We have a festival each year to remember the role of the railroad in our history. We are even throwing in recipes for homemade ice cream for your sweet tooth.
We hope you enjoy this edition and hope it brings back memories for some and things to look forward to for others. Also we would ask that you support our advertisers who are the reason that we are able to bring you Hartselle Living. Please stop by their places of business and tell them you saw their ad in the magazine.
Thank you for your support of Hartselle Living and we look forward to your comments.
May God continue to bless America and our town of Hartselle.
