Funeral for Fred “Jc” Bennett, 85, of Eva was Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Matt Burleson officiating.
Burial was in Hamby’s Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Bennett died Mon., Aug. 29, 2011, at his residence. He was born Dec. 6, 1925, in Morgan County to Abbie Crawford and Eliza Widner Bennett. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was a member of Eva Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bufus and Royce Bennett; and three sisters, Madgie Belle Eubanks, Catherine Maddox and Faye Green.
He is survived by his wife, Reba Bennett of Eva; two sons, Wayne Bennett and wife Billie and Neel Bennett and wife Kim; four daughters, Levonia Suggs and husband Norris, Janice Bennett Parker, Cherie Bennett Sparkman and husband Stanley and Lisa Bennett and husband Culp; a sister, Shirley Waddell; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Norris Suggs, Gary Culp, Stanley Sparkman, Wes Parker, Hunter Bennett and Grant Bennett.
Honorary pallbearers were Jason Suggs, Kevin Suggs, Heath Bennett, Slade Sparkman, Guin Holland and Bennett Parker.
