Two charged with meth lab bust
Two people were arrested during a meth lab bust early Wednesday morning on Nance Ford Road.
The Morgan County Drug Task Force, Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputies, Morgan County K-9 unit, Hartselle Police Department and Decatur Organized Crime unit conducted a search warrant at 1147 Nance Ford Rd in Hartselle, the residence of 39-year-old Brian Keith Partain and 25-year-old Brittany Taylor Downs, as a part of a four-month investigation.
Authorities located a one-pot methamphetamine lab, several precursor chemicals and drug paraphernalia in a garage behind the residence. Agents found drug paraphernalia in the bedroom of Partain and Downs along with several long guns. Morgan County K-9 unit also found a large quantity of methamphetamine and several OxyContin pain pills that were hidden inside Partain’s vehicle.
Partain was charged with unlawful manufacturing in the first degree, unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a controlled substance (OxyContin). He is being held on a $260,000 bond.
Downs was charged with unlawful manufacturing in the first degree and is being held on a $5,000.
The Hartselle Fire Department was called to the scene to decontaminate the suspects before transporting them to Morgan County Jail.
