James L. Jones

Funeral for James L. Jones, 81, of Danville will be Sat., Sept. 3, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Hicks officiating.

Visitation will be Fri., Sept. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Herring Cemetery.

Mr. Jones died Thur., Sept. 1, 2011, at his residence. He was born Sept, 15, 1929, in Lawrence County to Fed Jones and Birdie Smith Jones. He was a member of Old Timey Apostolic Church in Danville and was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Jones of Danville; three sons, Rick Jones of Cullman, Kevin Jones of Decatur and Alton Jones of Danville; five brothers, Bill Jones, Carl Jones, Jimmy Jones, Fred Jones and Andy Jones; three sisters, Marie Heflin, Brenda Melson and Debra Jones; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be nephews and other family members.
