Lady Tigers split with Danville, Guntersville
The third-ranked Hartselle’s Lady Tigers had four players score 10 or more kills each as they fought to a split decision against Danville and Guntersville in a tri-match volleyball competition at Pettey Center on Thursday.
The Lady Tigers came out on top against Class 3A No. 5 Danville, 25-12, 25-12, while pushing Guntersville’s Lady Wildcats to three matches before losing, 25-18, 23-25, 15-9.
Danville’s Lady Hawks also lost to Guntersville, 25-11, 25-11.
Olivia Golden led Hartselle in kills with 12 while Kaylee Shelton followed with 11 and Katelyn Hill and Taylor Lybarger each had 10. Golden and Lybarger also had 16 digs each and Hill scored three aces.
Savanne Howard led all others in assists with 39 while Elizabeth Russell followed with five assists and nine digs.
Sydni Shelton paced the Lady Hawks with 13 kills while Jada Callahan had seven kills and eight digs. Haley Rae Garnett added 19 assists and Keri Callahan had five digs.
Hartselle’s win extended its record to 10-11.
