Danville falls in semifinals of tournament
Danville finished second in its pool play and was later defeated in the semifinals by Addison on Saturday.
In pool play, Danville defeated Hatton 22-25, 25-14, 15-12 in one game. The Lady Hawks also took Mars Hill 25-20, 25-16.
In the final game of pool play, Lexington defeated Danville 20-25, 25-15, 15-11.
In the semifinals, Addison squeezed out a win in the first game and then put away Danville in the second game, winning by a score 26-24, 25-17.
The Lady Hawks improved to 14-11 with the results in the tournament.
Statistical leaders for the day included Sydni Shelton with 43 kills, five blocks and 26 digs.
Jada Callahan added 29 kills and 20 digs.
Haley Rae Garnett racked up 75 assists in the four matches Saturday.
Hannah McClung was the leader in blocks with six.
Jesse Oliver also chipped in four blocks.
Kelsey Alvis was the team leader in aces with six.
Keri Callahan also had a good night with 24 digs.
Danville will return home today when they face county rival and area opponent West Morgan.
