Missing girl found in Decatur

A 17-year-old girl reported missing last week is now back home with her mother.

Lt. Justin Barley, spokesman for the Hartselle Police Department, said Stephanie Nicole Young from Hartselle was found in Decatur Monday night by Decatur police officers and later returned to her mother.

She had been reported missing on Sept. 7. Hartselle police issued the missing person bulletin Friday. By Monday, Chief Ron Puckett had indicated that the girl may have been with her father in Moulton, but it had not been confirmed at that point.

Barley wished to thank the public for its assistance during the investigation.
