A memorial service for Robert M. McPhail, 60, of Hartselle will be Sat., Sept. 24, at 5 p.m. at Hartselle Wedding Chapel at 2851 Highway 31 SW and then move to the Reuben Sims Baseball Field in Sparkman Park at 6 p.m. for the final memorial. Peck Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

The family chose this way to memorialize their loved one because it is the way he would want family and friends to remember him, doing what he loved-umpiring. Those attending the memorial service are asked not to wear black, as the memorial is a celebration of life.

Mr. McPhail died Thur., Sept. 8, 2011, at his residence. He was born July 23, 1951, in Texas to Joseph McPhail and Miriam Fuller McPhail.

He is survived h by his wife, Susan McPhail of Hartselle; three sons, Robert M. McPhail Jr., and wife Dalhia of Yuma, Ariz.; Gary Allison and wife Lana of Bradford, Ark.; and Seth McPhail of Huntsville, Texas; a daughter, Natalie Lester of Yellville, Ark.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
