Funeral for Hilda Jewel Singleton, 83, of Hartselle will be Sat., Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. at New Center Baptist Church with Bro. Ben Bates officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Fri., Sept. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and the body will lie in state for one hour prior to the funeral.

Burial will be in the New Center Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Singleton died Wed., Sept. 14, 2011, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Feb. 29, 1928, in Morgan County to Richard Blankenship and Alcie Mae Maples Blankenship. She was a member of New Center Baptist Church and was retired from Hartselle Medical Center as a dietary supervisor. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alvis Singleton.

She is survived by a sister, C.L. Moore of Hartselle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Michael Cocke, Mike Graham, Kent King, Tyler Stinson, Gary Mack Blankenship and Von Yeager.
