Danville man connected with Decatur burglary
A 31-year-old Danville man has been linked to a Tuesday afternoon burglary at 1575 Kirby Bridge Road in Decatur.
James Jeremiah White of County Road 327 in Danville was charged with burglary in the third degree. Decatur Police also charged Blake Henry Hokett of Moulton with burglary in the third degree. Both suspects were held in jail on a $2,500 bond.
About 2 p.m. Tuesday, William Johnson, the victim, reported that a truck was leaving his property towing a trailer that had property in it, which had been removed from inside his storage building.
While Decatur Police were en route, Morgan County Sheriff’s deputies stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation a short distance from the house.
The truck was occupied by Hokett and White. The deputy received the information about the burglary and kept the suspects in custody.
Decatur Police investigators arrived and were able to identify property in the trailer that had just been removed from the victim’s storage building.
Police returned the property to Johnson.
