Gerald ‘Butch’ Kempke

Funeral for Gerald “Butch” Kempke, 55, of Hartselle will be Wed., Oct. 19, at 1:30 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Campbell officiating.

Visitation will be Wed., Oct. 19, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Herring Cemetery.

Mr. Kempke died Fri., Oct. 14, 2011, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born March 3, 1956, in Joliet, Ill., to Alfred Kempke Sr. and Genevieve Covey Kempke.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Kempke of Hartselle; three sons, Joshua Kempke of Utah, Dallas Kempke of Hartselle and Matt Ballenger of Brace Ville, Ill.; a daughter, Elizabeth Caulfield of New Lenox, Ill.; a brother, Alfred Kempke Jr. and wife Linda of Joliet, Ill.; a sister, Ann Frederickson of Missouri; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family, American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
