Desirae Yost tops raffle ticket sales
The annual Massey School Reunion will be held Sat., Oct. 29, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Massey Fire Station, located on Evergreen Road. Anyone who was associated with the school from 1907 to 1969 is invited to attend.
Refreshments will be provided and those who have old photos or other school memorabilia is asked to bring it and share with those in attendance.
The Massey school was built in 1907, having a single room. Two rooms were added later and a new school building was constructed in 1936. The school was located behind Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and was closed in 1969.

Congratulations go out this week to Danville-Neel students who sold the most raffle tickets at the school’s fall festival.
The winners, their finish and the number of tickets they sold are listed as follows: Desirae Yost, first place, 173; Jace Huff, second place, 166; and Gracie Matthews, third place, 100.
Festival prize winners were Sarah Butler, laptop; Thomas Lester, Nintendo 3DS; and Clara Fuller, $100. The teacher winning the “Learning Tree Basket’ was Neeka Parker. A special thank you goes out to everyone who worked hard to make the festival a big success.
Special happy belated birthday wishes go out this week to Milford Fields and Keith Abercrombie, Hazel Parker and Nell Dobbins, all on Oct. 17 and Charles Long and Eddie Dotson, both on Oct. 18.
