Brewer finishes winless in region

Brewer fell to the West Point 49-7 Friday night in the final home game of the season at Tucker Stadium.
It’s been a tough year for the brewer patriots, and Friday night’s game against the West Point Warriors was no exception. The Patriots are 0-9 on the season and were winless in region play.
West Point scored first on a Mark Laney 39-yard field goal, giving the Warriors a 3-0 lead at the end of first quarter.
The Warriors would then explode for three second quarter scores. Tate Duckett scored on a 5-yard end run with 11:55 left in the second quarter making it 10-0.
Seven minutes later, Bryant Ferley ran for 19 yards and a touchdown.
With 23 seconds left in the first half, Ferley threw an 8-yard strike to Wesley Smith for the touchdown, making it 24-0.
The Patriots’ only only score cane with 8 seconds left in the half when Weston Pritchett threw a 15-yard pass to James Daugette, who dropped the ball, but before it hit the ground, Devon Green snatched and scampered 40 yards for the touchdown. The PAT by Michael Easter was good, and Brewer trailed 24-7.
It was more of the same in the second half.
Duckett sprinted 69 yards for scored West Point’s fourth touchdown. Smith then intercepted a Patriot pass and returned it all the way in from the 25.
Dalton Wren scampered 12 yards to score West Point’s sixth TD. West point now led 46-7.
The final score of the night came on a 48-yard field goal by Laney.
Brewer travels to Priceville for the final game of the season on Friday. West Point faces Fairview at home.
