Funeral for Venita Jane Frost Clay, 83, will be Tue., Nov. 8, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dan Hopper officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tue., Nov. 8, from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Clay died Sun., Nov. 6, 2011 at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 15, 1928, in Morgan County to Casper Alexander Frost and Willie B. (Dunlap) Frost. She was a member of Harmony Primitive Baptist Church. She loved having all of her family together and enjoyed having everyone together in her home, especially for the holidays. She loved cooking and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, R.H. Clay of Eva; one son, Michael Clay of Peachtree City, Ga.; two daughters, Connie Martin and husband Barry of Decatur and Anita Johnson of Gardendale; two sisters, Virginia F. Nelson and husband Zeb Eva and Dorothy F. Summerford and husband Jerry of Madison; eight grandchildren, Clay Martin and wife Kim, Robbie Johnson and wife Becky, Matthew Clay, Jennifer Martin Crawford and husband Allen; Rebecca Martin Barnes and husband Greg, Michelle Johnson, Whitney Johnson and Alexandra Clay; great-grandchildren, Bess and Cate Martin, Grace and Sam Crawford, Blake and Cole Barnes and Christian and Kayden Johnson; two special nieces, Debra Nelson and Melissa Stump; and a special nephew, Chip Summerford.
Pallbearers will be Chip Summerford, Joshua Pruitt, Jamie Barrentine, Terry Stump, Wesley Stump and Randy Drinkard.
