Police find concealed meth on child during traffic stop
A Hartselle woman is in jail after methampethamine was found concealed on her 6-year-old, according to Decatur Police.
On Nov. 3, Decatur Police Department’s Special Operations Unit stopped Heather Haygood, 27, of 63 Depreast Road in Hartselle for a moving violation at the intersection of U.S. 31 south and Deer Springs Road in Decatur.
During the course of the investigation, officers said the suspect concealed a quantity of methamphetamine on her 6-year-old son. Officers also located precursor chemicals to manufacture methamphetamine in the vehicle.
Haygood was arrested and charged with chemical endangerment of a child, unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance second degree and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. She is in the Morgan County Jail on a $57,500 bond.
