Hartselle Christmas parade delayed
Traditionally, Hartselle’s annual Christmas Parade is held on the first Thursday in December. That won’t happen again this year, however, because of a possible conflict with the Class 5A state football championship.
“After the Tigers advanced last week, we decided to go ahead and make the change,” said Hartselle Police Capt. Tom Sparks, who heads up the event for Hartselle Kiwanis Club. “In the event Hartselle keeps winning in football, the team would play for a state championship on Thursday, Dec. 1.
“The only change is the date,” Sparks pointed out. “Those who desire to enter a unit in the parade should go ahead and register as quickly as possible. Registration forms are available at the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce office or they may be downloaded form the chamber’s website.”
The parade will get underway at 7 p.m.
