Funeral for Calvin “Red” Alonzo Busby, 82, of Hartselle will be Mon., Nov. 14, at noon at New Song Family Church with Pastor Les Jones, Pastor B. Kay Jones and Bro. James Maxwell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in McCormick Cemetery in Walker County.
Mr. Busby died Sat., Nov. 12, 2011, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Feb. 9, 1929, in Walker County to Calvin Alonzo Busby and Lillie Allen Busby. He was a member of New Song Family Church and a Hartselle Civitan. He loved his wife, Nancy, very much. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and family get-togethers. He loved Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves. He also loved to watch his grandchildren, nieces and nephews play ball. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Charles Busby, two sisters, Elnora Hamond and Evelyn Howard and two grandsons, Brentley Kilpatrick and Kevin Box.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Busby of Hartselle; a son, Hubert McCoy McMinemon II and wife Stacy of Somerville; four daughters, Connie Box and husband Johnny of Dodge City, Anita Wiley and husband Tim of Birmingham, Donna Egger of Hartselle and Stacy McMinemon of Somerville; s sister, Eloise York; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Box, Chris Box, Scott Wicker, Jamo Maxwell, John Griffin and Doug Kaup.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Goens and Bob Forten.
