Funeral for Pernie L. Sparks, 86, of Decatur will be Wed., Nov. 16, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Bennett officiating. Visitation will be Tues. Nov. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sparks died Mon., Nov. 14, 2011, at her residence. She was born Dec. 7, 1924, in Winston County to Otis Jones and Jane Evans Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Price Sparks; a son, Ottis Sparks; a granddaugher, Yvette Sparks; and her parents. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a member of Falkville Church of God.
She is survived by a son, Royce Sparks and wife Brenda of Birmingham; four daughters, Debbie Sparks, Maria Grisham and Sue Reed and husband J.R., all of Decatur, and Fay Blackwood and husband Billy of Trinity; a sister, Vera Nell Johnson of Hartselle; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were family members and friends.
