HHS gets win over West Morgan

Hartselle’s Tigers bombed West Morgan’s Rebels 81-52 to pick up their fourth win against three losses in a game played on the road Monday night.

The Tigers grabbed a 21-17 first quarter lead and extended the margin to 42-23 at halftime. They converted 12 of 21 three-point shots and had 25 assists.

Four Tigers scored in double figures. Prestyn Wallace led the way with 19 points. Following him were Aaron Wooley with 15, Colsten Thompson with 13 and Thomas Fleischman with 11. Thompson and Fleischman each pulled down six rebounds.

Antonio Little paced the Rebels with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Grant Workman added 10 points.

Decatur 68, Hartselle 63

Hartselle’s Tigers led Decatur’s Red Raiders by five points at halftime before losing 68-63 in a game played at the J.C. Pettey Center on Dec. 13.

The Red Raiders led 14-14 after one quarter while Hartselle was up 33-28 at halftime.

Timbo Slaten paced the Tigers in scoring with 15 points. He was followed by Prestyn Wallace with 12 points. Preston Adams and Aaron Wooley each contributed nine points.

Chad Watkins paced Decatur with 24 points. Darius Nelson added 18 points and Zahnir Moore had 11 points.

Muscle Shoals 48, Hartselle 44

Muscle Shoals shut down Hartselle’s offense for three quarters and survived a 16-point fourth quarter rally to emerge as a 48-44 winner at home on Saturday.

The Trojans were ahead 12-9 after the first quarter, led 23-18 at halftime and were in control 48-26 after three quarters.

The winners recorded 11 steals and collected 15 points off of turnovers.

Hartselle was paced by Prestyn Wallace with 15 points. Aaron Willey contributed 10 points. Phillip Summerford was credited with 11 rebounds.

Ryon Johnson scored 20 points and pulled down 7 rebounds for the Trojans while Mikey Bailey added 12 points.
