Funeral for Myrtle Lee Thompson, 84, of Decatur will be Thur., Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ronald Manley and Arnold Bracken officiating.
Visitation will be Wed., Jan. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in New Friendship Cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson died Mon., Jan. 9, 2012, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 2, 1927, in Colbert County to John W. Bracken and Katie Alberta Grisham Bracken. She was a member of the New Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Thompson; a sister, Lorene Champion; a brother, Marshall Bracken; a great-grandchild, Makyna Grace Stevens; and her parents.
She is survived by two daughters, Pam Hadley and husband Jeff of Joppa and Linda Chaffin and husband Kenneth of Somerville; a brother, Arnold Bracken and wife Tula of Lawrence County; two sisters, Inez Hopper of Decatur and Sarah Galletti and husband Zady of Cleveland, Ohio; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Family members and friends will be pallbearers.
