Local F.O.P. endorses Priest for clerk
Chris Priest, candidate in the Republican Runoff for Morgan County Circuit Clerk, was endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 46, an organization of active duty and retired law enforcement officers throughout Morgan County.
“It is an honor to have the backing of the law enforcement community throughout Morgan County since they work directly with the clerk’s office as a part of their duties,” said Priest. “These men and women honorably serve our county and our communities. They keep our families, streets and schools safe. Having their support is very humbling.”
Priest is a lawyer and a small business owner with the local law firm of Blackburn, Maloney & Schuppert, LLC, where he has practiced law for the past 12 years. Prior to practicing law, Priest served as law clerk with the Morgan County Circuit Court. “Having worked with the Circuit Clerk’s office as a law clerk has given me a unique perspective of the office and has allowed me to work with the staff on a daily basis. As a lawyer, I have an understanding of the judicial system as well as experience with the judicial computer filing system. The majority of the work performed by the clerk’s office involves legal pleadings and filings, including warrants and other documents utilized by law enforcement.”
Priest is pleased to have received the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police since it is so closely tied to the work of the circuit clerk. You can find out more about Chris Priest and his campaign at www.chrispriest2012.com.
