Burks medals in three state track meet events

Hartselle’s High School senior Quanesha Burks earned championship medals in three of the four events in which she participated at the State 4A-6A AHSAA State Outdoor Track Meet in Gulf Shores on May 3-4.

Burks, who recently signed an athletic scholarship with the University of Alabama, logged first place finishes in the 100-meter dash, long jump and triple jump; Her time in the 100 was 12.74. Distances in the jumps were 19-02 and 39-02, respectively.

Burks also came in third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.69.

James Glenn led Hartselle’s boy’s team with a fifth place finish in the discus throw.
