Orr inducted into ASHOF
Former Hartselle, Auburn University, Team USA and Olympic basketball player, Vickie Orr, was one of eight to be inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Orr played collegiate basketball at Auburn University. She was a Kodak All-American three consecutive years (1987-1989) and named SEC Player of the Year (1988).
She currently ranks second in Auburn scoring with 2,035 points, and is one of only two Auburn players to score over 2,000 points and have 1,000 rebounds. She won two Gold Medals in 1990 as part of two different teams, the Goodwill team and the USA Team that played in the World Championships. She was also a member of the U.S. Olympic Team that won bronze in 1992. She played professionally in Italy from 1990-1992.
