A deal too good to pass up
Dear Editor,
With all the farming and rural businesses in our area, this opportunity is just too good to pass up. If you’ve got a rural business or farm, then the U.S. Department of Agriculture has a deal for you: Invest a little in renewable energy or energy efficiency and the government will chip in for 25 percent of the cost. Take that coupled with incentives available through TVA and additional federal tax credits, and you’re almost getting paid to save money on energy.
Many of our local farmers and businesses could use a little boost after the most recent economic slump. What better way than to upgrade your facilities and reduce operating costs?
Not to mention you’ll be helping to create local jobs in the economy of tomorrow while also pitching your part to help environment. I sincerely hope that people jump on this opportunity. Information on the Rural Energy for America Program can be found on their website and the new extended deadline for applications is May 31.
