Edward E. Ingram
Dr. Ingram is currently the Superintendent of Franklin County Schools in Louisburg, N.C. Franklin County Schools have a student population of about 8,700 and about 1,200 staff members. His current salary is $146,300. He received his educational doctorate degree in educational leadership from East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. in 2002.
Previously, Dr. Ingram has been Executive Director of Curriculum for Franklin County Schools, a high school principal for Currituck County Schools and Section Chief for Teacher Education for the N.C. Department of Public Instruction.
Dr. Ingram wrote a $350,000 New Schools Project Grant that enabled Franklin County Schools to open an Early College High School in January 2010. This collaboration with Vance-Granville Community College allowed students to simultaneously work towards high school graduation and a two-year college degree or two years of transferable college credit.
He led the high schools of Franklin County in developing a “turnaround” plan which enabled two of the three high schools to transform from state watch list schools to “schools of distinction” in two years. Dr. Ingram also helped increase the graduation rate from 61.5% to 76.5% (above the state average) in four years through a 21 credit diploma program and evening high school.
In 1995 and 1996, Dr. Ingram was named Principal of the Year in Nash-Rocky Mount Schools and Franklin County Schools respectively. In 1999, he wrote and received a Service Learning Grant for $45,000 over three years, and Louisburg High School, where he was acting as principal, was named a National Service Learning School.
Sandra W. Spivey
Dr. Spivey is currently the Director of Secondary Education for the Madison County School System in Huntsville. The Madison County Schools have a student population of about 20,000. Her current salary is $107,000. She received her Educational Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Auburn University in 2004.
Previously, Dr. Spivey has been principal at Benjamin Russell High School, principal at Hoover High School and Director of Human Resources for the Hoover City School System. She also currently acts as an adjunct professor for Samford University.
Dr. Spivey led all of the Madison County high schools and middle schools as they became involved in the AP/A+ College Ready Program. She served as a member of the leadership team that successfully completed the AdvancED District Accreditation process for the Madison County School System in 2011.
In 2007, Dr. Spivey formed a partnership between the Madison County School System and Samford University to offer graduate programs in Educational Leadership in the area. This program allowed for better preparation of aspiring school leaders who could then step into leadership roles in their school system.
Dr. Spivey is Vice-Chair of the Leadership Huntsville/Madison County Class 27 Program Team and was a member of the UAHuntsville Community Advisory Council. In 2010, she was selected by the Alabama State Superintendent of Education to serve on the Education Reform and Innovation Council in an advisory capacity to the State Department of Education.
Paul V. “Vic” Wilson
Dr. Wilson is currently the principal at Mountain Brook High School. Mountain Brook has a student population of 1,025 and about 150 staff members. His current salary is $125,000. He received his Educational Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Samford University in 2012.
Previously, Dr. Wilson has been assistant principal at Mountain Book High School, principal at Homewood High School and assistant principal at Homewood Middle School.
During the 2012-2013 school year, Dr. Wilson began Project Grey at Mountain Brook High School to increase opportunities for diversity for Birmingham students. This project partnered with Ramsey High School to allow 10 students from Mountain Brook and 10 students from Ramsey to work together, learn from each other and grow lasting relationships through shadowing and a civic project.
Dr. Wilson prides himself in providing specific learning opportunities for students in the “middle” (those who are not top students or special needs students). These efforts include blended learning and cross-collaborative learning opportunities specifically designed for regular students.
He was the Alabama Music Educator’s Association Administrator of the Year in 2012-2013, the University of Montevallo Principal of the Year in 209-2010. Dr. Wilson is an Admin Intern for UAB and a pending candidate for the Superintendent’s Academy for 2013-2014.
Camille H. Wright
Dr. Wright is currently the Director of Instruction for the Madison City Board of Education. The Madison City School System has a student population of 9,384 and about 980 teachers. Her current salary is $106,400. She received her Educational Doctorate degree in administration and supervision from the University of Alabama in 1996.
Previously, Dr. Wright was principal at Section High School, an adjunct professor at Jacksonville State University, principal at Macedonia Junior High School and principal at Paint Rock Valley High School.
Dr. Wright has been involved with the process of building James Clemons High School over the last five years. She also organized the North Alabama Curriculum Directors group that discussed upcoming changes and how to resolve problems dealing with these changes.
For the last six years Dr. Wright has worked to promote Career and Technical Education state-wide and has made an impact in changing the view of CTE as a path for students not going to college to a viable opportunity for all students to become college and career ready.
She received the Professional Women’s Excellence of Leadership Award for Excellence in Education. Dr. Wright was appointed to the Governor’s Commission for Career and Technical Education and the Region 3 Regional Support Team for School Districts. She is also a state trainer for EDUCATE Alabama and Alabama Quality Teaching Standards.
