Crawford charged with forgery

Decatur Police arrested Hilary Denise Crawford, 35, of Hartselle, Tuesday, May 21, from the La Quinta Inn in Decatur.

On April 30, Carole Sharp reported to police that her personal checks had been stolen, forged and subsequently cashed at various locations throughout Decatur. Crawford was developed as a suspect, and she was transported to the police department for further investigation. As a result, Crawford was charged with two counts of 2nd degree forgery.

Forgery is a Class C felony. Crawford was processed through the Decatur City Jail and transferred to the Morgan County Jail with a $5,000 bond.
