A memorial service for John Merrill Wilkinson, 91, of Decatur was Tues., May 28, at 7 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Wilkinson died Wed., May 22, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born May 22, 1922, in Jefferson County to Russell James Wilkinson and Mary Francis Pounds Wilkinson. Mr. Wilkinson was a World War II veteran and a great man who was loved by all. He owned and operated Discount Auto Parts in Hueytown and Priceville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Christine Wilkinson; five brothers; and two sisters.

He is survived by a son, John Wilkinson Jr., two daughters, Christine Borgman and Myrtice Randall and husband Jim; a brother, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
