Three charged in meth lab bust
Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents arrested three men at a meth lab east of Hartselle Mon., June 17.
Deputies received a call about someone cooking meth at 1805 Hwy 36 E. Homeowners were identified as Charles Tennis Maxwell Jr., 46, Lonnie Gail Brown, 43 and Christopher Davies, 27.
Deputies observed a cloudy atmosphere in the trailer home and a one-pot meth lab. The MCDTF determined the meth lab had already been cooked off. Agents executed a search warrant and found a one-pot meth lab, acid, Drano, cold packs, lithium battery casings, coffee filters, an HCL gas hose, salt and finished methamphetamine.
Maxwell was arrested and charged with unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance 1st, unlawful possession of a controlled substance (meth) and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. Maxwell was currently out on bond for a burglary. Brown was
arrested and charged similarly.
Davies was charged with loitering in a drug house.
All suspects were decontaminated by Somerville Fire and Rescue and taken to the Morgan County Jail.
