Danville man accused of theft

Decatur Police arrested a Danville man Saturday for burglary.

Fri., June 21, Barbara and John Smith reported a burglary at their residence, 1110 Liberty Rd. S.W. in Danville. They were missing over $500 worth of jewelry.

The victims questioned their grandson, Joshua Luis Smith, 21, Saturday about the stolen jewelry, and he told them he stole it. The victims then contacted the police.

Detective Chance Sparks, the on-call property crimes detective, arrested and charged Joshua Smith with theft of property 2nd degree. Joshua Smith was transferred to the Morgan County Jail where he was placed under a $2,500 bond.
