Wigginton wins HOSA award
HOSA held its National Leadership Conference last week in Nashville, Tenn. with over 7,500 students from all over the U.S. competing in 49 leadership and skill events.
Macy Wigginton, a rising Hartselle High School senior, placed sixth in the prepared speaking competition with her speech “HOSA: Caring for the Future.” She qualified for the national competition by placing first at the Alabama State HOSA Conference in February.
This was Wigginton’s first time competing. Only six Alabama students made top 10 in all 49 events.
Wigginton is the daughter of Cooper and Denise Wigginton of Hartselle. She is also an internship student in the Medical Professions Program and a student athletic trainer.
