21 arrested, 8 wanted in roundup

Twenty-one people were arrested and eight more are still at large following a lengthy narcotics investigation involving numerous suspects.

Sheriff Ana Franklin said the agencies involved in the search include the Morgan County Drug Task Force, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney’s office, Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, Alabama Department of Public Safety, Hartselle Police, Decatur Police and federal agencies.

“During this investigation, persons suspected of distribution, manufacturing and sales of drugs were targeted,” Franklin said in a statement. “The majority of the individuals have been arrested, but there are still some wanted persons with active warrants.

“These individuals remain known to the authorities, based on information gathered during this investigation. This investigation focused on all types of criminal narcotic activity with a major focus on the unlawful distribution and sale of prescription drugs.”

Those arrested include:

• Kayla Alexandria Price was charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance. Her bond was set at $15,000.

• Lindsay Jon Duckworth was charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $17,500.

• Michael Aaron Hooker was charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $12,500.

• Michelle Connally Finney was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Her bond was set at $2,500

• Dallas Jordan Copeland was charged with probation violation. His bond was revoked.

• Jason Brian Sheffield was charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance. He is facing a $10,000 bond.

• Kevin William Wallace was charged with five counts of distribution of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $25,000.

• Willard Ryan Massey was charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance. He is facing a $15,000 bond.

• Michael Sain was charged with distribution of a controlled substance. He is being held on a $5,000 bond.

• Austin Forster was charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $10,000.

• Quinton David Ledbetter was charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance and first degree possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $12,500.

• Heatherly Walters was charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance. Her bond was set at $10,000.

• Wanetta Jo McCullough was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana second, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence. Her bond was set at $3,400.

Toni Lea Meeks was charged with failure to appear/drug paraphernalia. Her bond was $500.

• Allen Michael Stinson was charged with failure to appear/drug paraphernalia. His bond was $500.

• Cindy Sue Appleton was charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance. Her bond was $10,000.

• Melanie Chaney Smith was charged with distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and promoting prison contraband. Her bond was revoked.

• Jeffrey Jackson Tucker was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was $2,800.

• Gregory Watkins was charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $10,000.

• Leroy Goodwin was charged with four counts of distribution of a controlled substance. His bond was $20,000.

• Dylan Reed Woodruff was charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance. His bond was $15,000.

Suspects that are still at large include the following:

• Peyton Scott Alred is wanted on two counts of distribution of a controlled substance.

• Kenneth Wilson is wanted on charges of distribution of a controlled substance.

• George Hearring is wanted on charges of distribution of a controlled substance.

• Joshua Runager is wanted on two counts of distribution of a controlled substance.

• Lisa Compton is wanted on three counts of distribution of a controlled substance.

• Garth Greene is wanted on three counts of distribution of a controlled substance.

• Chris Sharpley is wanted on two counts of distribution of a controlled substance.

• Chelsea Halbert is wanted on charges of distribution of a controlled substance.
