The third annual Day of the Cowboy Western Heritage Day will be held October 16, 17 and 18 at the Morgan County Sheriff’s Posse Grounds. The event is sponsored and presented by No Fences Cowboy Church of Morgan County. The posse grounds are located at 1801 Vest Road in Hartselle.

This free event will let those who attend watch various ranch demonstrations, eat authentic Chuck-wagon meals and enjoy a ranch rodeo. The No Fences church uses the event to help preserve, protect, interpret and teach the history and culture of the American West for adults and children.

Monetary donations will also be accepted and all will go to Children’s Hospital at the Birmingham Cancer Research Center.

The event kicks off Fri., Oct. 16, with a pre-Rodeo dance at the Posse grounds at 7 p.m.

The gates open at 7 a.m. on Sat., Oct. 17, with an authentic chuck wagon breakfast being served at no charge.

There will be branding and horseshoe making demonstrations and other Ranch Rodeo demonstrations throughout the day.

The No Fences Band will be playing throughout the day as well.

There will be horse rides, vendors and other activities for those in attendance, as well as a chuck wagon lunch served.  A concession stand will open at 1 p.m. and will be open throughout the day’s events.

Wild Horse Ministries, Horse Whisperer Paul Daily will be in performing as well. He will take an untamed halter broke young horse and gentle him while using the Word of God to reach people and will bridle, saddle and ride the young horse within a 2-hour period. This will take place beginning at 3 p.m.

CCHA Male Vocalist of the Year, Hunter Irwin will perform at 5 p.m. singing Christian Country Music.

The main Rodeo will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature ranch bronc riding, mugging, trailer loading, wild cow milking and a speaker.

“Church in the Dirt” will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sun., Oct. 18, at the Posse Grounds. All are welcome with the No Fences Band playing and a great message will be heard.

No Fences Cowboy Church seeks to break down barriers and welcomes each person unconditionally. You are welcome to just come as you are.
