Glenn Bryant is seeking election as the next Morgan County superintendent.
Bryant, a 1985 graduate of Hartselle High School, has lived in Morgan County all his adult life and said he would love to put his drive, experience and passion to work for the citizens of Morgan County.
“I am running to accomplish three things,” Bryant said in a press release. “Safe inclusive schools, curriculum and program that ensure our students are prepared for life after high school and strategically improving the economic impact our schools have on our communities.”
Bryant taught mathematics from 1997-2003 at East Lawrence High School and was a coach at West Morgan from 2003-2011 until he became an administrator in the Huntsville City Schools system. At Huntsville he worked as the assistant principal at Challenger Middle School, the director of transition for the incoming superintendent and the principal at Chapman P-8. In 2016 he became the principal of Ardmore High School in Limestone County.
Bryant served 22 years as a U.S. Navy reservist, retiring as a senior chief boatswain mate in 2009.
Bryant said he believes his vast experience, which also includes five years in corrections and law enforcement, makes him the perfect candidate to lead the school system.
Bryant and his wife Labeth have been married for 26 years and have two children: Will, 21, and Mary Beth, 18.
