Daniel L. Carmon

Hartselle

 

Funeral service for Daniel L. Carmon, 62, was held July 15 at Hartselle Church of Christ with Phillip Hines and Riley Nelson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was at Eva Cemetery. Mr. Carmon died July 10 at his residence. He was born July 18, 1955, in Tennessee to Hershel Edward Carmon and Loretta Jean Link Carmon. He was a member of the Hartselle Church of Christ and loved missions work in Romania, making 13 trips with his church family. He also did missions work in South Alabama. Mr. Carmon managed a group home in Moulton and worked for 24 years at Mental Health of Cullman. He loved to sing and was a very good song leader. Graduating from David Lipscomb College, he had a Bachelor of Science in health and education. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Phillip Carmon and sister Susie Carmon. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Della Nelson Carmon; one son, Jeremy Daniel Carmon (Becky Mesik Carmon); two brothers, David Carmon (Judy Carmon) and Stephen Carmon; two sisters, Glynn Phelps (Leon) and Nita Molina; and one grandchild, Layla Ruth Carmon. Pallbearers were Charles Crawford, Harry Fuller, Tony Parker, Darrell Sims, Jamie Sullivan and Hal Wilson.

 

Barbara Ann Fricks

Falkville

 

Funeral service for Barbara Ann Fricks, 58, was July 13 at 10 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Tucker officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Herring Cemetery.

Mrs. Fricks died July 9 at her residence. She was born Oct. 14, 1959, in Morgan County to Johnny Paul Champion and Angie Faye Moore Champion.

She was a certified nurse assistant at Summerford Nursing Home. She was a wonderful loving wife, mother and grandmother and always wore a smile.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Fricks, Falkville; one son, Charles Fricks (Melissa), Falkville; one daughter, Miranda Gillespie (Blake), Falkville; mother, Angie Champion, Somerville; four brothers, Harold Champion (Becky), Madison, John Champion (Kathy), Decatur, Larry Champion, Somerville, and Maverick “Marlon” Champion (Tammy), Harvest; one sister: Nancy Leathers, Somerville; and five grandchildren, Robert Fricks, Britni Bates, Jordan Bates, Gabrielle Jones and Noah Gillespie. Pallbearers were Byron Turney, Robert Summerford, Josh Tucker, Jason Leathers, Richie Leathers and Toby Clark.

 

Holland Wayne Whitworth, Sr.

Hamilton

 

Funeral service for Holland Wayne Whitworth Sr., 58, was held July 12 at 10 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Glover, Bro. Wade Stover and Bro. Jay Speegle officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Center Cemetery in Bankhead Forest.

Mr. Whitworth died July 5 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born March 2, 1960, in Texas to John Holland Whitworth and Hilda Marie Garrison. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Derreck Franklin.

Survivors include his girlfriend, Kathy Burney Burson; three sons, Holland Wayne Whitworth Jr.,

John Charles Whitworth and Jeremiah Phillip Whitworth; one daughter, Daphne LeeAnn Whitworth; four brothers, John Lewis Whitworth, Farren Maxwell Whitworth Sr., Danny Lynn Whitworth and Jack Steven Whitworth; three sisters, Janice Marie Glover, Sherri Kay Campbell and Rosemary Whitworth; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and a host of great friends, as he never met a stranger.

Pallbearers were Holland Whitworth Jr., John Charles Whitworth, Jeremiah Whitworth, John Cleo Whitworth, David Austin Tucker and Farren Maxwell Whitworth.

 

Jo Ann Gilchrist Pridmore

Funeral service for Jo Ann Gilchrist Pridmore, 79, was July 13 at 3 p.m. at Rock Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Allred and Ken Burcham officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Oden Ridge Cemetery.

Mrs. Pridmore died July 11 at her residence. She was born Feb. 17, 1939, in Morgan County to Vardy Poteet “Sport” Gilchrist and Moselle Geneva Holloway Gilchrist. She was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church and was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Roland Pridmore; her parents; her brother, Phil Gilchrist; and two sisters, Elsie Jeanette Gilchrist and Marjorie Poteet.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Weik (Tom), Hoover, and Angie Tucker (Carl), Eva; two brothers, Pryor Gilchrist (Linda), Laceys Spring, and Skeggs Gilchrist (Francine), Decatur; four sisters, Carolyn Jones (James), Somerville, Barbara Earle (Dick), Huntsville, Dianne Thompson, Trussville, and Kay Wilder, Somerville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Terry Gilchrist, Bill Gilchrist, James Jones, Scott Earle, Brad Gilchrist and Doc Wilder.

Honorary pallbearers were Cody Frost, Ethan Holmes, Jared Holmes, Sam Martin, Cody McKee, Clay Oden, Weston Prichett, Colton Smith, Noah Steffan, Jeremy Widener and Matt Widener.

 

Bertha Bullard

Falkville

 

Funeral service for Bertha Bullard, 77, was July 14 at noon at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rickey Hughes officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Falkville City Cemetery.

Ms. Bullard died July 11 at Falkville Health Care Center. She was born Feb. 12, 1941, in Marshall County to Henry and Sue Hall. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Dwight Bullard and Dennis Bullard; and a grandson, Kris Bullard.

Survivors include one son, Mike Bullard, Somerville; one brother, Delon Hall, Boaz; one grandchild, Bryan Bullard; and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Bullard and Nate Bullard.

Pallbearers were family and friends.

 

Eric Daniel Virgili

Hartselle

 

Funeral service for Eric Daniel Virgili, 33, was July 17 at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Pitts officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Virgili died July 8 at his residence. He was born Sept. 19, 1984, in Ohio to Vernon Lee Virgili and Barbara Duncan Crain.

He was the manager of A Storage Place. He loved music and sports. He was an avid Ohio State Fan and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. He loved his family, his friends and loved to have fun!

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeremy Burkepile; grandfather, Charles Duncan; grandmother, Bonnie Duncan; grandmother, Thelma Gantz; grandfather, Disadore Virgili; and father, Kevin Burkepile.

Survivors include his wife, Ashley Story, Hartselle; two daughters, Lilly Hagl and Layla Hagl, Hartselle; mother, Barbara Duncan Crain (Ralph), Falkville; father, Vernon Virgili (Jan), Ohio; six brothers, Joseph Virgili, Falkville, David Crain (Amy Jo), Ohio, Jo Crain (Amber), Ohio, Mathew Iams, Ohio, and Jeffrey Iams, Ohio, and Andrew Virgili (Stephanie) Ohio; four sisters, Angelica Cornett (Randy), Dothan, Tiffany Hasselbach (Scott), Ohio, Kerri Burkepile, Ohio, and Destinie Burkepile (Steven), Ohio; grandmother, Lila Sweet, Ohio.
